Rachel Campos-Duffy, Will Cain, and Pete Hegseth: The Trio That Defined Fox News Weekends — Behind-the-Scenes Stories Revealed for the First Time

NEW YORK — Over the past several years, Fox & Friends Weekend has become a staple of weekend morning television for millions of Americans. Much of that success is thanks to the chemistry and charisma of its three co-hosts: Rachel Campos-Duffy, Will Cain, and Pete Hegseth. With their distinct personalities and diverse professional backgrounds, the trio reshaped the tone and energy of weekend broadcasts on Fox News.

The Faces Behind Fox & Friends Weekend
While Fox & Friends during the weekdays is led by Ainsley Earhardt, Steve Doocy, and Brian Kilmeade, the weekend edition features a different but equally compelling team. Pete Hegseth: From Battlefield to Broadcast

Pete Hegseth has been a familiar face on Fox News since 2014, when he joined the network as a contributor. A former Army National Guard infantry officer, Hegseth served in Iraq and Afghanistan, earning two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman Badge for his service.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in politics from Princeton University and a master’s in public policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. Beyond his regular weekend hosting duties, Hegseth has hosted New Year’s Eve specials on Fox and led high-profile projects such as The Miseducation of America, a five-part series on FOX Nation.

Will Cain: A Sharp Shift from ESPN to Political Commentary

In June 2020, Will Cain joined Fox & Friends Weekend, following a high-profile tenure at ESPN. Known for his candid style and ability to tackle both political and cultural topics, Cain was seen as a strategic addition to the weekend team.

“Will has a unique ability to connect with an audience on a wide variety of topics,” said Fox News executive Gavin Hadden at the time.

Cain earned his undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University and a law degree from The University of Texas. Prior to Fox, he served as a political analyst for CNN, co-hosting programs such as In the Arena with Eliot Spitzer and Starting Point with Soledad O’Brien. He also launched and later sold two media ventures: Quince Media and Cain Communications.

In 2021, he launched The Will Cain Podcast, where he shares insights on politics, sports, and current events.

Rachel Campos-Duffy: The Newest Voice, and a Powerful One

Rachel Campos-Duffy became the newest member of the Fox & Friends Weekend lineup in 2021. She first gained national attention in 1994 as a cast member of MTV’s The Real World: San Francisco and later built a career focused on family, faith, and parenting.

Campos-Duffy holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and a master’s from the University of California, San Diego. Together with her husband — former Congressman and current Fox News contributor Sean Duffy — she co-hosts the podcast From the Kitchen Table and co-authored the bestselling holiday book All American Christmas.

She also hosts Moms, a subscription-based parenting program on the Fox Nation streaming platform. A mother of nine, Campos-Duffy stepped into the role previously held by Jedediah Bila. Notably, where Bila was critical of former President Donald Trump, Campos-Duffy has been a vocal supporter — a shift that aligned more closely with Fox’s core audience.

A Lasting Legacy on Weekend Television

During their time together, Rachel Campos-Duffy, Will Cain, and Pete Hegseth brought more than news and analysis to Fox & Friends Weekend — they created a lasting connection with viewers and developed a distinctive style that made the program stand out.

While each has since taken on new roles within the network and beyond, their influence continues to shape how Fox News approaches its weekend programming.
